Vernon Kay admits he 'messed up' and may leave the UK
Vernon Kay says he "messed up" a major move and may leave the UK as he wants "another crack" at it. The BBC Radio 2 star hinted at a potential move away from the UK after admitting to 'messing up' a previous opportunity.
Vernon, a ITV This Morning stand-in host, spoke of desire for another shot at America. He told Changes with Annie Mac: "Well, flippantly, I'd like another crack at America because I think I messed up. I did three network shows for America. I wouldn't say I messed that up. I think looking back, I was inexperienced."
He added: "I think, knowing, being more confident in myself and the way I work, I'd like another go at a game show in America. That's a big change." Vernon, 50, revealed he had 'three chances' to make it big in the USA - two for ABC and one for NBC.

Vernon said: "They lasted a series. If you want a laugh, go on YouTube and watch a game show I hosted called the Million Dollar Mind Game. It's basically me doing an impression of Roger Moore. 'Good evening and welcome to the Million Dollar Mind Game.'"
Annie said: "Vernon Kay is one of the most recognised people on British TV and radio, and an old colleague of mine on BBC Radio 1. We had a lovely conversation for this episode of Changes, he was candid and funny, talked about joining Radio 2 and the incredibly intense emotional experience he went through during his Children In Need Ultraultra marathon challenge, his enduring marriage to Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, the joys and challenges of balancing family life with a demanding career, his evolving perceptions of happiness and success, his late puberty and his first kiss!"
She added: "Wigan Pier! Obsessed!"
