The New ‘Veronica Mars’ Reboot Is ‘Controversial,’ According to Kristen Bell

If Veronica Mars fans are expecting a light-hearted revival, they’re in for a wakeup call, because Kristen Bell just confirmed the Hulu version is as “controversial” as it gets.

The Good Place star, 38, recently sat down for an interview with E! News, where she discussed the highly anticipated miniseries. “This will be a controversial season. Let me just say that,” she said.

So, what does Bell mean by “controversial”? We’re not entirely sure, but it sounds like a doozy, considering the actress already revealed that she won’t be live tweeting the show.

“I am excited for people to watch, and I am also probably going to stay off the internet once it airs,” she continued. “There’s some stuff that happens that people will have strong feelings about.”

Bell went on to remind fans that the reboot takes place at a different point in the character’s life, adding, “It’s different when she’s an adult. The world is bigger, it’s sort of darker and dirtier, but she still has her moral compass, her sass and her wit. It’s still very much a show about the haves and the have nots and Veronica fighting for the underdog. It made me so happy to do it again.”

When asked if the miniseries will be her last Veronica Mars venture, Bell made all our dreams come true and responded, “It won’t be.”

Oh, how we’ve missed you. Veronica Mars will premiere on Hulu sometime in summer 2019.
