Vick hope has been announced as the fifth star to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The Capital FM DJ, 28, revealed the news on her breakfast show on Wednesday, admitting that she “loves dancing” but will find some of the dances out of her “comfort zone.”

Speaking to fellow DJ Roman Kemp, she said: "I can tell you that every Saturday night I get to be close to Faye from Steps... I'm doing Strictly!

She added: “It's really surreal. I cannot pretend I'm a celebrity like some of the others with their level of following and experience, but what an opportunity.”

"I'm a fan of the show so I feel very, very honoured to be part of it. I love dancing. I promise you I'm going to work so hard. I'm so excited.”

Kemp told her that the whole team would be “backing her”, urging all their listeners to vote for her.

He told listeners to “forget the Wold Cup” as he played It’s Coming Home.

In a BBC press release, Hope said: “I'm so excited about being a contestant on this year’s Strictly. I’ve always been such a massive fan of the show so it’s a huge honour to be part of this series."

“Dances like Ballroom and Latin are totally outside my comfort zone but I love dancing, it makes people happy - myself included - so to be able to perform every Saturday is such an incredible opportunity and I genuinely couldn’t be more looking forward to throwing myself into it, working hard and learning from the judges every week.”

Hope is the fifth contestant to be announced as Joe Sugg was announced on Tuesday, and Faye Tozer, Danny John-Jules and Katie Piper were announced on Monday.

Piper revealed that she has known for "quite a while" about her upcoming appearance, which was hard to keep a secret, and confessed that she text her husband to tell him she was set to appear.
