The 42-year-old made her admission during a speech at the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition in London on Thursday night, saying how her bandmates would be left to do the singing.

“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh - and now my mic is well and truly on, finally,” she told host Claudia Winkleman, reports The Sun.

The now fashion designer went on to admit how she always loved clothes while she was in the band and made sure she was constantly in the best labels.

“I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were crap and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress,” she said.

Victoria added that she was always the most serious out of the famous fivesome.

“When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables, I was always the one checking the table wasn’t going to collapse. I was always the sensible one,” she said.

Just last week the band’s former manager Simon Fuller admitted that Victoria ‘never seemed comfortable’ in the music industry.

“She never felt comfortable,” Simon said at the Business Innovation Awards in Los Angeles.

“Even in the Spice Girls - it was great fun, she was in the world’s biggest group for two or three years - but she didn’t feel comfortable.

"She could sing pretty well, she could dance pretty well, but she always felt uncomfortable.”
