Victoria Beckham turns comedian for new YouTube sketch show

Singer, designer and now vlogger: for Victoria Beckham’s latest venture, the former Spice Girl is set to try her hand at comedy for a brand new YouTube sketch series.

The 44-year-old began filming In The Chair with Victoria Beckham yesterday with hairdresser Ken Paves and make-up artist Wendy Rowe, and shared behind-the-scenes footage with her Instagram followers.

Dressed in a monogrammed silk bathrobe and wearing her hair wrapped in a towel, Beckham filmed the clip using a selfie stick, though a full production team could be seen in the background.

“We are here today shooting my first YouTube video,” she told followers, describing herself as “a selfie stick virgin” before introducing Paves and Rowe, who joked that Beckham would soon be asking for “a bell” to keep them in order.

In another Instagram story, the star joked that she “likes to be in control” of the shoot, as Rowe applied her make-up.

Rather than sharing fashion or beauty advice, Beckham’s new venture will reportedly mark her first foray into comedy.

A source told The Sun that the designer has “hired a scriptwriter” for the series, which is said to feature a sketch that pokes fun at her “famously discreet nuptials” with David Beckham.

Another clip will apparently see Victoria turn film critic as she parodies an Oscar review show.

According to the publication, she ponders why she has never received a nomination for her appearance in Spiceworld, asking: “Isn’t there some category, some kind of lifetime achievement? I’m a wife, mother businesswoman, designer, icon?”

She does, however, concede that “they can only consider people who’ve been in feature films in the past year.”

She also describes the YouTube channel to be “like the Queen’s Speech but longer and with me rather than the Queen.”

The designer is yet to confirm a release date for the series, but invited her Instagram followers to subscribe to the channel for more updates.
