VIDEO: Deadly tornado passing through Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD, Ala (WDHN) — WDHN has obtained new footage showing a deadly and destructive tornado that destroyed a portion of a Houston County town earlier this year.

The footage was caught on video by the dashcam of Cottonwood Police Chief Tony Money.

When Chief Money came outside, he found his truck four feet from its original position.

The EF2 tornado ripped through southern Houston County on Tuesday, January 9, leaving behind a trail of destruction behind.

Several buildings in downtown Cottonwood were heavily damaged and destroyed.

During the storms, 81-year-old Charlotte Paschal was killed after her trailer was picked up and flipped several times.
