Video footage shows brutal 'school run hammer attack' in Lancashire which 'traumatised pupils'
A video shows a brutal targeted hammer attack - carried out by an organised crime gang in broad daylight close to a Lancashire school.
The 30-second clip - seen by LancsLive - shows the victim's car pinned in by a BMW X5 and a Land Rover before at least four men attack the driver, smashing the passenger side window, before launching a string of blows onto him using hammers and baseball bats.
The terrifying footage appears to have been filmed by a member of the gang - and then subsequently shared across WhatsApp group chats.

It took place during rush hour at 8.30am on Wordworth Road in Accrington, close to Mount Carmel high school, as pupils made their way to morning lessons.
Commenting on a police Facebook post about the incident, one person said: "It is absolutely vile, doing that outside a school during a time when pupils are on their way to lessons. Those poor children will be traumatised having to witness that."
Police said a man in his 50s was attacked by six men who were travelling in the Land Rover and BMW, with one of the vehicles crashing into the front of the victim's car, with the second colliding with the rear.
The suspects got out of the cars and attacked the victim with weapons, Lancashire Police said in a statement. The man suffered injuries to his legs and face. Officers said they have spoken to the school about the incident but they do not know if any pupils or parents witnessed the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Denson of Lancashire Police said: “This was a violent assault with weapons of a man who suffered serious injuries. As we investigate what happened, we are appealing for witnesses to the assault and any information. If anyone has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time it happened, we want you to contact the police.”
Police have asked people not to share the footage on social media. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
