Video: Hundreds of potatoes spill across busy London road after lorry overturns

This is the moment a lorry stuffed to the brim with potatoes crashed into a house and spilled its cargo over a London driveway.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A40 in Greenford, west London, at around 7pm on Monday evening.

Video of the crash showed the vehicle careering off the side, turning over and veering towards a house.

As it crashed to a halt the lorry spilled hundreds of spuds over the road and across a car, completely burying it.

Eager locals flocked round the spillage in the aftermath, hoping to catch a glimpse of the chaos.

According to My London, hundreds of potatoes still littered the road and pavement on Tuesday morning with clean-up crews offering spare spuds to passers by.

Police and ambulance services attended the incident, though it was confirmed no one was seriously injured.

A Met Police spokesperson told Yahoo News UK: "Police were called at approximately 19:00hrs on Monday, 21 March to reports of a lorry and car in collision on the A40 in Greenford.

"No reports of any serious injuries.

"Work is ongoing to recover the vehicles.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
