Yahoo News New Video Offers a Rare Peek Inside Will and Kate's Country Home
Kate Middleton is cancer free, she announced today in a new video.
"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," the Princess of Wales says in a voiceover. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."
The video is notable for many reasons—her intimate and affectionate moments with Prince William, for one—but also because it offers royal watchers a rare glimpse inside Anmer Hall, the Wales family's home in Norfolk. (The video was filmed last month in Norfolk.)
In one brief clip, Kate, William, and their three children play cards with Carole and Michael Middleton, Kate's parents.
The footage is touching for its inclusion of Kate's parents, but also because it shows a room inside Anmer Hall. Queen Elizabeth gifted the property, which is located on the royal family's Sandringham estate in Norfolk, to Will and Kate for their wedding. They spent over $2 million revamping its interior, and after Princess Charlotte was born, Anmer Hall was briefly their full-time home before they moved to London then to Windsor.
The room appears to be a dining room, with a blue-and-white patterned tablecloth spread over a large table. There is a cabinet full of tableware, and hanging on the wall are decorative plates. It's just a tiny peek into Will and Kate's home—but glimpses into royal home life are few and far between.
