VIDEO: See the moment a Rolling Stones 'super fan' meets his idols

A lifelong Rolling Stones was given the ultimate trip to London – but even he didn't expect to meet his idols. After being identified as a 'super fan' of the legendary group, US native Alex Emanuel was flown to the capital by VisitLondon.com.

Once there, Alex was taken on a tour of the band's former hotspots before being shown around Exhibitionism; a collection of original Stones' artwork, by Alexander McQueen, Andy Warhol, Prada and Dior, as well as fashion, music and film.

Alex said: "Liverpool has The Beatles, Memphis has Elvis – The Rolling Stones are London. The Stones have been with me all my life so to visit Exhibitionism in London was fantastic. The show has given me a unique glimpse of the city through the eyes of The Rolling Stones."

While he was busy watching a clip of one of the band's recording session, Alex was unaware that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood were creeping up behind him.

The Rolling Stones surprised 'super fan' Alex

Unsurprisingly he seemed genuinely shocked when he turned around to find the actual Rolling Stones standing in front of him.

Afterward, Alex said: "It's going to sound silly but for a moment I thought I was a member of the Rolling Stones. It's not every day you get to meet your idols."

Discussing the amazing trip, VisitLondon.com chief marketing and communications officer Chris Gottlieb said: "Alex's Rolling Stones tour of London shows how the city is steeped in the history of one of the world's greatest rock bands."
