Video shows inside shiny new London Underground entrance as it opens to the public
Footage has shown the inside of a new entrance to the London Underground at a major station as it opens to the public. The way onto the Bakerloo line at Paddington is now available to use at Paddington Station.
Transport for London (TfL) says the 'significantly larger' ticket hall will speed up journeys due to there being more ticket gates for customers. In addition, 'better signs' are being installed to guide customers through the interchange.
City of Westminster Councillor for Maida Vale, Geoff Barraclough, posted a video of the newly opened part of the interchange on Friday, September 20. He said on X: "The glorious 1 min 17 seconds from Praed Street to the new Bakerloo station entrance. Enjoy."

Customers can get to the Bakerloo line from the Elizabeth line station by a direct link to the platforms. The new ticket hall, built by Sellar, is part of the Paddington Square development.
The area is a new public space with offices, shops, restaurants and a public square. Forty retail and dining spaces, a landscaped public piazza - part of a 'new and improved arrival experience' for Paddington Station.
Disruption to National Rail services at Paddington
It comes after it was announced that Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway (GWR) services at Paddington are set to be disrupted during the Christmas period 'until 2030' so that works on the mainline and at HS2's Old Oak Common station can be completed. Officials say the project will affect some train services into the interchange 'over the next few years'.
This includes, 'at times', reduced services operating between Paddington and Ealing Broadway or Heathrow Airport terminals. On Sunday, November 17, and from Friday, December 27, to Sunday, December 29, there will be no mainline trains operating to or from Paddington.
