Video shows moment car thieves caught red-handed by police in heated chase
The moment two car thieves were caught red-handed by police has been captured on video - after officers spotted the duo speeding down a motorway. Jade Cosier, 28, and Erik Horvath, 24, have been jailed for a total of more than five years after they stole the car from a man in his 60s.
Cosier, who was known to the victim, gained entry to his home in Tower Hamlets, Dover on April 16, where she asked to borrow money. From there, she and the man went to a cashpoint while Horvath and two 17-year-old boys entered the house through a door believed to have been left unlocked by Cosier.
When Cosier returned with the victim, the gang "put him in fear of violence" and demanded his car keys - along with his bank card -before speeding off in the stolen vehicle, driven by Cosier.

Kent Police were alerted to the theft and a patrol spotted the car driving well over the speed limit on the M2 London-bound carriageway. They "boxed in" the car and Cosier, Horvath, and the teenagers were all arrested at the scene.
Cosier was charged with robbery and dangerous driving while Horvath was charged with robbery, and both parties pleaded guilty to the offences.
During their sentencing at Canterbury Crown Court, Cosier, from Aylesham, was jailed for two years and four months while Horvath, formerly of Dover, was jailed for three years and four months. One of the teenage boys involved was previously given a Youth Rehabilitation Order for his role and the other is to be sentenced at a later date.
Det Const Charlotte Tracey said: "These four people took advantage of a man who was known to Cosier and had even offered to help her earlier that day. They put him in fear of violence and Cosier then endangered road users with the manner and speed of her driving."
She continued: "I am pleased they were quickly arrested and charged and these two offenders have now been jailed, meaning they are no longer a danger to the people of Dover."
