Video shows moment man rows through Rhyl floodwater on inflatable chair

A man decided to have a bit of fun amid heavy downpours and flooding misery which hit parts of North Wales yesterday (Monday). Josh Asbo Taylor, of Asbo Boyz car club, bought an inflatable and went for a paddle in floodwater near the Clock Tower in Rhyl.

A video filmed by Paris Kendrick showed him enjoying a cruise across the floodwater as a group watched on, amused by his antics. Paris said: "It was just a bit if fun.

"One of our friends bought an inflatable and decided to go for a row by the little bridge near the Clock Tower where it had flooded.

"We had driven around and come across some flooding. There was a couple of roads affected in Rhyl, but Towyn was far worse hit than Rhyl."

In addition to some roads being shut following downpours yesterday, Loggerheads Country Park on the Denbighshire / Flintshire border, was forced to close today (Tuesday). Improved flood defences are being built at Loggerheads following severe flooding in 2023 but these have not been completed in time to prevent a second inundation.
