Aerial Footage Shows South Carolina Neighborhood Cut Off by Flooding

Flooding throughout South Carolina’s Lowland region could begin to recede on October 5, but more rain is in the forecast. A storm that stalled off the east coast and was fueled by Hurricane Joaquin dumped about two feet of rain in the Charleston region last weekend, according to local media.

Numerous roads are closed throughout the region. The flooding that followed prompted evacuations and water rescues. The city of Charleston made 40 home rescues in a 10-hour period on October 4, according to the Post and Courier. There also are approximately 150 cars disabled on flooded streets in the city.
