Afghan Forces Still Require NATO Support in Country's North

In its latest update, the NATO-led Resolute Support mission to Afghanistan shared footage of interviews with Brigadier General Andreas Hannemann from TAAC North, and Major General Abdul Hamid from the ANA’s 209th Corps discussing military operations in northern Afghanistan.

Hannemann said that Afghan forces are “stretched due to the size of the area” and are often "deployed from incident to incident, adding that it is “putting pressure on Afghan forces” to deal with the situation in the area.

Hamid said he was “pleased” with his army’s performance to date, but stressed that they (the Afghanistan army) “still needed support from the Resolute Support mission to train our people” in achieving new goals and targets.
