Alex Trebek Raps 'Fresh Prince' Lyrics

On Jeopardy Monday, host Alex Trebek was reading clues under the "TV" category and then got to one that showcased his skills as a rapper. Trebek put his own unique take on Will Smith's lyrics to the theme song of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, rapping, "I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie, 'Yo homes, smell ya later.'" It wasn’t the first time Trebek has displayed his lyrical spitfire. In a classic episode of Jeopardy from January 2014 he rapped an entire category. Audiences at home had their ear buds treated to Trebek rapping lines like Dr. Dre’s “Never let me slip, ‘cause if I slip, then I’m slippin’” and Biggie’s “I made the change from a common thief to up close and personal with Robin Leach.” The people in charge of the long-running game show must have enjoyed the attention Trebek’s flow received online because just a few months later, Trebek was rapping more lyrics. There’s just something in the way he says “Sabotage,” I suppose. Jeopardy is a nationally syndicated program. Check your local listings for its airtime.
