Animated Video Reenacts Census Bureau Shooting

Next Media Animation, an animation studio based in Taiwan, created a digital reenactment of the fatal shooting which occurred outside the US Census Bureau in Washington DC on April 9. The video depicts the series of events from the moment the gunman rammed the car he was driving into the gates of the Census Bureau headquarters in Suitland.

A security guard attempted to chase the gunman but was shot in the chest. The assailant proceeded to barricade himself inside the Bureau for some time. Police said the suspect then took off, leading them on a chase through the District of Columbia. The chase came to a halt when the suspect, 48-year-old Ronald Anderson, was shot multiple times by police. He remains hospitalized. One officer was injured in the leg during the shooting.

The guard, 59-year-old Lawrence Buckner, died at a Prince George’s Hospital Center following the chase and shooting, according to NBC News

The incident is alleged to have begun with a domestic kidnapping. The victim was unharmed in the shooting. The suspect has been charged with kidnapping while armed and assault on a police officer while armed according to the police reports. Credit: YouTube/Next Media Animation
