Annual NYC Gay Pride Parade Held Two Days After Marriage Ruling

Gay Pride Day was celebrated across the United States on June 28, including in New York City. The parades and rallies were held two days after the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage. This video shows some of the parade in New York with GLSEN, an organization working to keep schools safe for all students no matter their sexual orientation.

The pride parades and rallies marked the anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, which took place in 1969 in Greenwich Village. The riots are considered the start of the gay pride movement, and New York Governor officiated a same-sex marriage at the Stonewall before the parade on Sunday. Credit: Instagram/Kurt G. Wahlstrom
