Anti-Islam Rally Faces Counter-Demonstration in Leipzig

A protest organized by the anti-immmigration group Legida in Leipzig on August 31 was met by hundreds of counter-demonstrators. The protests come amid a Europe-wide migrant and refugee crisis, with Germany announcing on August 25 that it would forgo EU rules to allow more refugees from Syria to come to Germany. Germany expects to take in 800,000 refugees this year, according to the BBC.
