Baltimore Police Release Photo of Bomb Threat Suspect's Device

Baltimore police released photos of what a bomb threat suspect wore on Thursday, April 28. Alex Michael Brizzi, 25, of Elkridge, is accused of threatening to blow up the Fox Baltimore building when he was denied entry into the building after saying he had a flash drive of content he wanted aired on the station.

Brizzi was dressed in an animal costume and wore a mask during the incident. The device he was wearing turned out to be made of a life preserver with wires attached to foil-wrapped candy bars.

During a press conference on Friday, Commissioner Kevin Davis said the flash drive contained several videos of Brizzi ranting about the end of the world.

Officers shot Brizzi three times when he didn’t comply with their commands. They wanted to rush to provide him first aid, Davis said, but they had not secured the area. Police used a robot to approach Brizzi to speak to him, but he refused to remove his hands from his pockets. They were soon able to get his hands out of his pockets and secure the scene via the robot.

Brizzi was taken to the hospital where he remained in serious but stable condition, but his injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Credit: Facebook/Baltimore Police Department
