Beirut Braced for New YouStink Protests

After the latest #YouStink protests in Beirut on August 29, protesters gave the Lebanese government 72 hours to meet their demands, Lebanon’s Daily Star said. Among the demands was the resignation of two ministers in the wake of violence against the protests, which began in response to a waste management crisis in the city.

The expiration of the 72-hour period meant further protests were expected on September 1. This footage shows razor wire being repaired near government buildings in Beirut on September 1. Credit: Twitter/Hasan Esen
