Bells Toll at Notre-Dame in Memory of Paris Attack Victims

The bells of Notre-Dame Cathedral tolled ahead of a special memorial service on the evening of Sunday, November 15, to remember the 132 people who died in a coordinated terrorist attack across the city on November 13. Another 322 people were injured, 99 of them in serious condition. Islamic State took responsibility for the six attacks that included shootings, a hostage situation and suicide bombings.

Reuters reported that seven gunman wearing suicide vests died in multiple assaults on Friday. French authorities identified one of the attackers as Ismael Omar Mostefai. Two of the gunmen were French nationals who had been living in Brussels, Belgian prosecutors said. A spokesman for Belgium’s Justice Minister said that authorities made several arrests in Brussels in connection with the attacks.

French officials also said an eighth attacker was at large. Credit: Instagram/macadamcowboy
