Bolotnaya Protesters Sentenced in Moscow

Storyful

Police arrested protesters who gathered outside a Moscow court house for the sentencing of the Bolotnaya defendants on February 24. The eight defendants, who took part in a demonstration ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s inauguration on May 6, 2012, were found guilty on February 21 with sentences ranging from two years to four years. The US State Department condemned the trial of the protesters as politically motivated earlier this month.
