Briefing on Search for MH370 in Southern Indian Ocean

A multinational search of the southern Indian Ocean continued on March 24 for Malaysia Airline’s flight MH370. In this video John Young, General Manager of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s Emergency Response Division, gives an update on the search in the Australian Search and Rescue Region.

Further aircraft joined the operation out of Perth as the search focused on two proximate areas covering 68,500 square kilometres. The search party included two Chinese military aircraft, two RAAF P3 Orions, three ultra-long range civil jets, a US Navy P8 Poseidon aircraft and two Japanese P3 Orion aircraft.
