A British man has set a new Guinness men's world cycling speed record of 174.339mph, making him the fastest cyclist ever. Neil Campbell smashed the record on Saturday 17 August in Elvington Airfield, North Yorkshire, UK. In order to achieve the target, Neil used a £15,000 custom-built bike fitted with a parachute and a Porsche Cayenne pace car. The previous world record was set by Fred Rompelberg's who reached speeds of 167mph in Utah, USA in 1995.
