British Olympic Cyclist Crashes After Crossing Finish Line at Aldeburgh

British Olympic cyclist Lizzie Armitstead was hospitalized on June 17 after she crashed into spectators just after crossing the finish line, victorious, at the first stage of the Women’s Tour in Aldeburgh, causing at least five other cyclists to crash into each other.

This footage of the crash appears to show Armitstead raising a hand to celebrate her win, before her bike swerves to the left and crashes next to the crowd. Armitstead, 26, won silver in the road race at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Credit: YouTube/Heart East Anglia News
