Candidates get heated during Conservative leadership debate

Conservative leadership hopefuls tonight took to our screens to debate policies from Brexit to social care. Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove, Sajid Javid and Rory Stewart all appeared on the BBC to take part in a heated debate chaired by Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis. They are vying to be the next leader of the Tory party, and thus the UK’s next prime minister. The candidates were not afraid to talk over one another and clashed on issues such as the deadline for Brexit.
