Catalonian Sing for Independence

Organizers estimated a 70,000 turn-out for a pro-independence rally in Barcelona’s Maria Cristina Avenue on Friday evening, September 25, ahead of Sunday’s vote. Catalans are due to head to the polls in regional elections that could spark a constitutional crisis with two separatist parties having joined forces under the banner ‘Coalition for Yes’.

Together they were leading in polls which could translate into a majority in the Catalonian parliament, setting in motion the process to independence.
