Chaos in London as Riot Police Kettle Anti-Tory Protesters

Anti-Tory demonstrators scuffled with police in front of Downing Street in central London on Saturday, May 9, one day after the election victory of Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservative party. Riot police with batons kettled hundreds of activists in front of the prime minister’s residence, as demonstrators threw miscellaneous objects and set off green smoke.

The Metropolitan Police could not immediately confirm whether anyone was arrested, according to local reports. Whitehall was shut for several hours during the protest. Credit: YouTube/Chris Green
