Chicago Fire Injures at Least Three, Destroys Second City Offices

A fire destroyed the Second City offices and three people were injured in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood on August 26. Local media reported the fire may have started from grease in the Adobo Grill restaurant on the first floor of a building on North Wells Street. The Second City theater company had its offices on the second and third stories of the building.

Second City’s theater, training ground for such notables as John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, Stephen Colbert and Tina Fey, was spared, the Chicago Fire Department said.
