Children Airlifted From Earthquake-Hit Buddhist Monastery in Nepal

The World Food Programme (WFP) has airlifted 60 children from a Buddhist monastery in Lho, Nepal, damaged by a major earthquake that struck on April 25. The mountain monastery was running low on food and supplies since being cut off from the lowlands by landslides. “The helicopter made four rotations,” WFP said, “bringing relief material to Lho, and taking the children, their caretakers, as well as a sick monk, to Deurali.” Credit: YouTube/World Food Programme
