Chile’s Calbuco Volcano Erupts for Third Time in Weeks

The Calbuco volcano in Chile erupted for the third time in recent weeks on April 30. It sent ash clouds, rocks and debris at least two miles in the air. The eruption was milder than last week’s blowouts, which disrupted air traffic as far away as Buenos Aires. This video shows the plume from a highway near the city of Puerto Montt.
