Coast Guard Officer Moved to Tears Recounting Hurricane Katrina

Petty Officer 1st Class Jonathan Rice, a Coast Guard aviation survival technician, was moved to tears recounting his experience as a first responder to the scene after Hurricane Katrina swept through New Orleans 10 years ago. The Coast Guard marked the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina by sharing Rice’s story. Rice was on the first helicopter that came back to New Orleans to rescue and assess damage.
