Coast Guard Rescues Jet Skier From Jersey Shore Surf

The US Coast Guard plucked a man out of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Manasquan, New Jersey, on October 4 after he was knocked off his personal watercraft.

Eye witnesses reported the man was riding a jet ski when he was knocked off by a large wave near Manasquan Inlet. The watercraft settled onto the jetty while the man floated in the rough surf. The Coast Guard stated the crew was on a routine flight when it spotted the man in the ocean and jumped into action.

A nor’easter that has stalled off the east coast has generated heavy wind and rain along the Jersey Shore, according to reports. Shore towns dealt with coastal and road flooding for three days because of the storm. A house in Middle Township collapsed into the ocean early on October 3 before being swept away.
