Confederate Flags Placed on Grounds of Ebenezer Baptist Church

Police are looking for two men who placed four Confederate flags on the grounds of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta early on Thursday, July 30. Senior pastor Rev. Raphael Warnock described the provocation as a “terrorist threat” at the site that is dedicated to slain civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, following the shooting of nine black church members during bible study in Charleston last month.

Surveillance footage taken from both the original church where King and his father used to preach and the new church sanctuary opposite shows the men walking around the grounds. Both buildings are part of the Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site. Credit: YouTube/Atlanta Police Department
