Crowds March in Silence for Nisman in Buenos Aires

Huge crowds descended upon the streets of Buenos Aires despite the rain on Wednesday, February 18, for a silent march led by judicial officials to honor Alberto Nisman, the federal prosecutor whose mysterious death has cast a shadow over the Argentine government.

Nisman died on January 18 after making allegations that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was involved in covering up Iran’s role in a terrorist attack on a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires in 1994.

Argentinians participating in the demonstration rallied around the hashtag #18F (February 18) and shared images of protesters marching in the rain. This footage shows crowds gathered in front of the Congreso de la Nación Argentina. Credit: Instagram/lisandroberger
