Crowds Sing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at Place De La Republique

Mourners gathered in Paris’ Place de la République on Sunday, November 15, as France held a second day of mourning in the wake of coordinated terrorist attacks across the city on November 13. The death toll for the attacks, which were later claimed by Islamic State, rose to 129, with at least 352 others wounded—99 critically. The mourners broke into various songs throughout the day, including Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.

Reuters reported that seven gunman wearing suicide vests died in multiple assaults on Friday. French authorities identified one of the attackers as Ismael Omar Mostefai. Two of the gunmen were French nationals who had been living in Brussels, Belgian prosecutors said. A spokesman for Belgium’s Justice Minister said that authorities have made several arrests in Brussels in connection with the attacks. Credit: Instagram/Amir Bhs
