Dashboard Video Shows Charleston Shooting Suspect's Arrest

Police arrested Charleston shooting suspect Dylann Roof on Thursday, June 18 in Shelby, North Carolina. This dashboard video depicts his arrest by police. “He was very quiet, very calm. He didn’t talk,” Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford told the Charlotte Observer on Friday. “He sat down here very quietly. He was not problematic.” Attached to the front of Roof’s black Hyundai sedan was a Confederate States of America plate.

Roof had been fleeing authorities for more than 16 hours before he was pulled over on U.S. 74.
