Dijsselbloem Predicts 'Very Difficult' Meeting of Eurogroup

The Eurogroup of finance ministers met in Brussels on July 7 in the wake of a strong rejection by Greek voters of the most recent bailout terms for Greece. Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Dutch president of the group, said he would first be meeting with the new Greek finance minister, Euclid Tsakalotos. He said it was “going to be very difficult” but that he was awaiting “new proposals” from the Greek government.

He said the Eurogroup was prepared to “do whatever it takes” to keep the eurozone together. Credit: European Commission
