Dozens Feared Wounded in Beirut as Protests Over Garbage Turn Violent

Police used rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannon in Beirut to quell one of the biggest protests in Lebanon’s recent history that began over refuse left to rot in the streets. Reports said as many as 75 people were injured. This video was posted by a Beirut resident saying he was a part of a movement, translated from the Arabic as “You Stink,” demanding the environment minister’s resignation along with conservation improvements.
