Dry, Warm Weather Rekindling Alaska Wildfires

Recent rain has helped curtain wildfire activity in Alaska, but warmer, drier weather expected in the forecast has rekindled some fires. The Long Lake Fire, which stands at over 25,000 acres burned, was among the fires that had been rekindled due to the weather on July 22. The fire first started on June 20.
