DSCOVR Launches on SpaceX Falcon 9

NASA’s SpaceX Falcon 9 lifted off on February 11 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, after two previous launches were scrubbed because of the weather. This video posted by NASA’s Kennedy Space Center channel shows the launch. The rocket was carrying NOAA’s Deep Space Climate Observatory spacecraft, or DSCOVR. The spacecraft is a joint effort between NOAA, NASA and the US Air Force to maintain the nation’s real-time solar wind monitoring capabilities. Credit: YouTube/NASAKennedy
