Emotional McDonalds Worker Joins Minimum Wage Protest in Madison

Workers in retail, fast food, and other industries protested across the nation on Wednesday, April 15, calling for the minimum wage to be raised to $15. The Fight for 15 campaign staged demonstrations in more than 150 cities around the country, with workers rallying behind the hashtag #FightFor15 on social media. Workers are also fighting for the right to unionize.

This footage captures an emotional McDonalds worker named Dani, who joined protesters in Madison, Wisconsin.

“I almost thought I couldn’t do it today, I was terrified with all those people in there,” Dani told the crowd. “But I know everybody here has my back because $7.25 is not enough.” Credit: Twitter/Will Kramer
