EU, Iran Say Language in Place for Nuclear Agreement

The six major world powers and Iran said on Thursday, April 2, that they have reached agreement on underlying language for accord on the country’s long-controversial nuclear program.

European Union foreign policy executive Federica Mogherini and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif made a joint statement in Lausanne, Switzerland, as Mogherini has been acting as something of a broker between sides. Some sanctions would be lifted and some nuclear programs would continue, according to the announcement. Credit: YouTube/European Commission
