Explosion, Fire Injures More Than 200 at Taiwan Water Park

As many as 200 people were injured, 75 of them critically, on Saturday, June 27, after an explosion and fire at a water park in Bali, New Taipei, on Taiwan’s northern coast. This video shows the dispersal of powder during a “color party,” a growing trend in Taiwan during which people are covered with different hues of dust. The powder was believed to have caught fire and, as the video shows, it exploded away from the stage into the crowd.

The flammable powder left some victims burned on more than 40 percent of their bodies, Central News Agency in Taipei reported. Two women in their early 20s suffered burns over 80 per cent of their bodies. Credit: Facebook/利頂天
