Explosions Triggered by Airstrikes on Sanaa

Loud explosions were triggered in Sanaa on Monday, April 6, after Saudi-led warplanes carried out airstrikes on the Yemeni capital as part of Operation Decisive Storm. Monday marked the twelfth day of the military intervention to counter the advance of Houthi rebel’s in Yemen’s south, which was announced by Saudi Arabia on March 25.

Local sources said that the bombardment targeted a military fuel reserve at the pro-rebel Republican Guard headquarters at Al-Subaha base in Sanaa. There were mixed reports as to what caused the explosions.
