Father of Drowned Boys Urges Arab States to Accept Syrian Refugees

Alan Kurdi, the drowned Syrian boy whose body washed up on a beach after the boat he and his family were traveling on sank off the Turkish coast, was returned for burial to Kobane in Syria on September 4, along with the bodies of his brother Ghalib, and their mother, Rehan, who also drowned. This footage shows the boys’ father and Rehan’s husband, Abdullah, speaking.

Abdullah Kurdi says (translation by Storyful):

“What I want now is for the Arab states, not the European ones, the Arab states, to see what happened to my children … and to help everyone … that’s all.
“My whole family is gone, God willing they are martyrs. But I hope they will help those in need.” Credit: Facebook/Arta.fm
