Father-Son Duo 'Team Hoyt' Run Last Boston Marathon

One year after a terrorist bombing claimed the lives of three people and injured more than 200, runners were off and spectators cheering for the 118th Boston Marathon on April 21.

Security was heightened along the 26.2-mile route, where more than 35,000 runners converged to race from Hopkinton’s town common to the finish line in Boston’s Copley Square.

This footage shows father-son duo ‘Team Hoyt’ running their final Boston Marathon. In the video, Dick Hoyt pushes his son Rick, who has cerebral palsy, in a wheelchair through the Ashland leg of the course. The two have become a fixture at the Boston Marathon, which they have run more than 30 times. Now 74- and 52-years-old, the two decided this year would be their last at the marathon.
