Ferry Workers on Strike Set Fire to Eurotunnel Tracks in Calais

Train services were suspended on Tuesday, June 30, when ferry workers from the French port of Calais set fire to tires placed on the rail tracks. MyFerryLink workers are striking against the sale of the business to a rival company, according to the BBC.

Thousands of passengers were stranded as both Eurostar and shuttle services were suspended. The tunnel was closed for at least five hours and the strike was the second at the port in a week. Most ferry services were canceled. Credit: Facebook/Geo Geo
