Fire Destroys Building Where Fire Extinguisher Chemicals Stored

A fire on March 19 destroyed an industrial building in Chicago, Illinois that houses chemicals used in fire extinguishers. The fire started just after 9 pm local time and was brought under control just after midnight, according to The Chicago Tribune. There were no reported injuries. The fire could be seen from the nearby Stevenson Expressway, which is where this video was taken.

A hazmat team was brought to the scene because of the chemicals stored in the building, but officials said it was determined the chemicals posed no risk to the public. Credit: YouTube/William Chasteen
